Budapest Concert Tour - Monday 9th April 2018

Tour day and first concert. Having navigated an interesting breakfast buffet and about a zillion Italian school groups, we boarded our coach for a guided tour of the city. 

We had a wonderful guide, Andrasz, who was really informative, passionate about his home and a really nice guy. The tour took us to the new and old parts of Budapest including, Heroes Square (where we did a quick flash mob, got another round of applause and Deb managed to hand out even more flyers!) Buda Hill, and the Jewish quarter. What an amazing city. It is truly magnificent!

We tasted local pastries, visited St Mattias Church which was spectacular, and soaked up the fabulous views from Fishersmens Bastion. All in the glorious sun!

We returned to the hotel for a quick rest and changed into our concert attire, then it was off to the Institute of Musicology for our first concert. We performed in a beautiful salon with the most enormous chandelier and a grand piano. Our set was well received by an audience of over 50 guests, who appeared to enjoy the music despite the sweltering temperature of 27 degrees!

Following our debut, we retuned to the hotel for another quick change and the off to dinner.

Tomorrow promises to be a little cooler!
